I created the Everyday Ambassador podcast and newsletter because in these challenging times, we all need community, inspiration, and practical wisdom to navigate our complex world.
Merle Lefkoff The Center for Emergent Diplomacy. I thought about contacting you directly to explore collaboration, and then I saw this. Congratulations, and I wish you so much luck. I believe you are on your way to attracting a cohort that "thinks otherwise" and I blelieve the dialogues will be conversations that count.
Merle thank you so much for writing. I would be thrilled if you would consider joining the project. You are just the person we need to make this a success. And I think you would find it engaging and useful. If you would like to chat by zoom about this please just let me know. Best Annelise
I am delighted to see your response Annelise. You may know that I am a recovering international mediator. I am writing you now from Jerusalem. I have to be on the ground in order to understand how to frame a dialogue on the future of Israel/Palestine. I’m not sure how long I will be here, because I have meetings in the West Bank next week with one of our “Peace Engineering” team members about what’s next? We’ve been waiting to get into Gaza for a year and a half. Please send me an email when you might be available for a zoom call the end of May. I’m so looking forward to connecting further. I love your work.
This is brilliant! I hope I will be able to participate in the future. I would love to consider myself a thought leader, there is so much to learn from everyone, share and connect!
Annelise, what a wonderful concept and a wonderful offer. I'd love to participate, but already see that I'm leading a writing retreat on May 10 and a workshop in Bali on your August date. I'm thinking that's already too many to miss to participate. But I love the idea of doing something like this.
Laura it’s so nice of you to write and I am honored and grateful that you would even consider it. I completely understand. And Bali!! How great! Any chance you want to come to Japan in June? Just throwing it out there it will be incredible, and one of the last times to spend quality time with survivors of the bombing who are aging. Anyway perhaps after you get back from Bali? It’s not now or never…so lovely to know you!
Japan sounds amazing, but no more travel for me this spring. My son and daughter-in-law spend a lot of time in Japan—they live in Boston, but she was partially raised in Japan. They are both origami artists and big fans of anime, so they go to Japan every year. They’ve been urging us to go with them some time—I’ve never been—so maybe my wife and I will. And yes, I’d love to hop on and get involved in your project later. Anything to get a bigger perspective and out of my US echo chamber would be welcome right now.
What a wonderful idea these Everyday Ambassador Salons.
Connecting outside of the usual channels, yes!
There's so much to be done, and the world currently holds enough wisdom to begin anew. Thank you for including me, Annelise Riles.
